Say hello to…Kid Nozy.

Meet Kid Nozy, an Ontario based musician. I had the pleasure of getting to ask Kid Nozy all about his music journey, his creative process, and more.

Read the Q+A below!

OA: When did you start making music?

Kid Nozy: I started making music back when I was in high school. What made me start was going to concerts and just feeling the energy, I loved it the moment I went to my first show.

OA: How would you describe your music style?

Kid Nozy: I can say I’m pretty diverse, just because I’m very well rounded with different tastes of music.

OA: What’s the meaning behind your name?

Kid Nozy: I went by Noz because I used to rap fast but people at school thought I was doing the drug noz tank, and I didn’t like the image it gave off. But I just really liked the word noz and how it was spelled out, so I decided to add kid and the y and just ran with it ever since.

OA: Who are some of your biggest music inspirations/influences?

Kid Nozy: I’d have to say Yung Pinch, Chris Travis, Cris Dinero and Mac Miller. Just because of the way they made it out and how they took their music to the top, inspires me. If they can do it, so can I.

OA: What’s your creative process like when you produce new music?

Kid Nozy: I first listen to the beats and start free styling over them. Once I get the melodies down and the concept then I start to go back and write.

OA: What’s your favorite thing about performing live?

Kid Nozy: I feel free, like all eyes are on me and I get to express myself through my music.

OA: What are some things you’ve learned over the years as an artist?

Kid Nozy: To just keep going and always stay consistent, and don’t let others bring you down and slow down your craft.

OA: What advice would you give artists that are just starting out?

Kid Nozy: Build a home studio, even if you have a budget, work with what you got. Stay consistent and make music to make music. If you’re in it for the money and fame, you’re gonna fall short real quick.

OA: Do you have any upcoming projects you’re excited about releasing?

Kid Nozy: I do have a mixtape that’s in the works called Out the Shadows, it will be dropping sometime soon, still working on it!
